Last year Joanna was nominated at the Bella Awards for Best On-stage Performer. Nominated in 2012 for Best Director for the Broadway musical "Dreamgirls", staged in Malaysia's national theatre, Istana Budaya, she was also seen worldwide on BBC World News hosting, "Exploring Malaysia", Joanna is an actress and environmentalist. Nominated for 'Best Actor in a Supporting Role' at the 'Boh' Cameronian Arts Awards 2007, 2008 she was nominated for "Best Director" for her directorial debut of Ibsen's 'An Enemy of the People". Joanna is most well known for her starring role in the long-running TV sitcom 'Kopitiam'. She was also nominated in the award winning sitcom, at the Asian Television Awards (Singapore) for 'Best Actress in a Comedy Role' and was highly commended. She was voted Best Female Artist in 2000 by a public online poll. Joanna has had an illustrious acting career in television, film and theatre having done over 200 episodes of television,feature films, major celebrity commercial endorsements, extensive voice-over work and animated series and numerous theatre productions. Joanna has been in feature films such as Lips to Lips, Buli', 1957- Hati Malaya and Waris Jari Hantu.
